In Memoriam: Ruth W. Williams

Dear Friends,

With great sadness we share that Ruth Williams, our dearest friend, stalwart supporter, joyful choir singer, and dedicated Chairman of the Board of VoxAmaDeus passed away on Friday, May 6, of respiratory failure at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Ruth’s philanthropy and generosity of self as an educator, volunteer, friend, and activist in all that she held dear, touched the lives of countless people. We were blessed to be part of that group.

Ruth nurtured Vox for over 28 years, providing the bedrock of Vox’s financial support; participating in every facet of operations; and, as Chairman of the Board, providing guidance and over-sight over its evolution from simple beginnings as Vox Renaissance Consort into the VoxAmaDeus of today. She coupled energy and enthusiasm with kindness and wisdom; paid attention to details without losing sight of the big picture; and exuded clarity of purpose, reminding us in ways large and small, that some of the most important things in life are actually very simple.

A celebration of Ruth’s life was held on Saturday May 21 at Gladwyne Presbyterian Church - her beloved "Chapel in the woods". It was a beautiful tribute to the life of this amazing woman, who was a gift unto all of our lives. We will miss her profoundly.

Please keep Ruth's family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you.

Pam, Valentin, Bonnie
